Derek Gow Rewilding
On his farm in rural Devon, Derek Gow has begun the process of rewilding. Introducing conservation grazing animals such as heck cattle, water buffalo and Exmoor ponies. After his initial influential work restoring wetlands with water voles and beavers, Gow is insistent on returning integral species to Britain’s waterways. Gow is currently working with wild cats and storks, planning to release them to Devon’s ideal habitats soon. His inspiring attitude is to get on with the conservation work without waiting for permission. Vital work like Gow's galvanises further rewilding projects throughout Britain.
